Salman Khan has become the brand ambassador of the detergent brand, Wheel. In fact, he holds great regard for the brand, and is not in any way deterred by the fact that the detergent should ideally have a female ambassador. “I am extremely proud to be associated with one of India’s oldest and most respectable brands. Wheel has become a household name, and has a superb history of many years,” says Salman Khan.
This is not his first endorsement, as is well known. The megastar has been connected with many important brands, from Thumbs Up to Red Tape Shoes to Chloromint. Most of these brands underlined his macho man image.Interestingly, his least favourite person at present, Shah Rukh Khan, took a similar route, when he decided to endorse a woman-oriented product, Lux. He, like the rest of us, must be dying to know just what Salman does in the ad.

Salman Khan is well known to have a soft heart beneath the tough exterior he loves to portray — sometimes which lands him in trouble. An eyewitness from the Dabanng sets says, “About eight months ago, Salman had asked his driver Ashok Singh to leave his work. Salman had felt that his driver’s behaviour hadn’t been suitable. Salman has faithful old-time retainers working with him for years. In fact, Salman has been so attached to Ashok that when the driver got married, Salman had even gifted him a flat for the newly wedded couple to stay in. So when Ashok behaved in a manner that irked Salman, the actor felt very let down and asked him to leave.”However what Salman wasn’t prepared for was that his ex-driver Ashok would land up on the sets when he was shooting and create and an emotional scene there.
“Salman was seated with his group while shooting for Dabanng in Wai when Ashok came in. Initially, when Ashok sent word that he wanted to talk to Salman Khan, the star ignored him. Finally after a lot of coaxing and wheedling, Khan agreed to meet him and called him to his room. Ashok broke down in tears saying ever since he had left Salman, his life had been in a mess. He begged for his job back. Salman Khan, who is still irritated with Ashok’s behaviour, said he had another driver and wasn’t looking to replace him.But the truth is with Salman — one never knows. Tomorrow he just might take Ashok back.”A source close to Salman says, “Yes.It’s true that Ashok had come on the Dabanng sets but bhai is a very nice person.
Today Salman might ask someone to leave and tomorrow if he feels bad, he might take him back.” Salman Khan remained unavailable for comment.

She began her Bollywood journey with Shah Rukh Khan in `Om Shanti Om` but it is actor Salman Khan, who is on the wish list of Deepika Padukone.
“I am really looking forward to work with Salman,” Deepika told reporters.
“In fact we were supposed to be paired up much earlier but then a couple of films didn`t quite work out. That`s sad but I am sure that in near future, we would be paired opposite each other,” said the actress, who will next be seen with Farhan Akhtar in `Karthik Calling Karthik`.
The 23-year-old has already worked with hotshots like Akshay Kumar `Chandni Chowk To China` and Saif Ali Khan `Love Aaj Kal` and will next be seen opposite Abhishek Bachchan, Imran Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh in `Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se`, `Break Ke Baad` and YRF`s untitled film respectively.
Meanwhile, one wonders what happened to a film called `Kick` which was rumoured to be featuring Salman and Deepika together. The remake of the namesake Telugu film, it was supposed to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss of `Ghajini` fame.
“It is plain rumour. Reports of me working with Salman in `Kick` are untrue. In fact I haven`t been offered any such film”, the actress said.
While Deepika`s track record shows that she has been enjoying a release once every six months ever since the release of `Om Shanti Om`, the frequency is all set to
increase in the coming months.
Soon after `Karthik Calling Karthik` (February), Deepika would be seen in `Housefull` (April). Either `Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se` or her film with Neil Nitin Mukesh would be
her next release thereafter. Incidentally, both the films are being shot at a brisk pace.
With so much work happening and no play, isn`t she worried of burn out? Doesn`t she fear getting all tired and worn out with so much work happening month after month?
“Honestly, I don`t look at working in films as a job. I really enjoy performing and what I do is something that gives me maximum pleasure and satisfaction. I am better off facing the camera”, smiles Deepika.
“In any case, I am taken well care of both on and off the sets. I feel comfortable and secure and there are no complaints whatsoever,” she said.
