Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor praised megastar Shahrukh for standing up against Shiv Sena during the controversy surrounding the release of ‘My Name Is Khan’, saying that the bullying of artistes by political groups needs to stop. Shiv Sena had demanded that the megastar apologise for his comments favouring inclusion of Pakistani players in IPL and threatened to halt ‘MNIK’s release. “I think SRK was completely right, he did not bow down to anybody. He was not wrong in his belief and did not apologise to anybody. I would like to believe that I would have stood up against the Thackerays if something like that would have happened to me,” said Ranbir.
The young actor had faced a similar situation with MNS and Raj Thackeray during the release of his film ‘Wake Up Sid’ for using the word ‘Bombay’ instead of ‘Mumbai’ in the film. “We used the word ‘Bombay’ in the film and the MNS party opposed that. But the film is fiction and this is a part of somebody’s vision. I so many times say Bombay and not Mumbai and because I’ve grown up with the word,” he said adding that the the arm-twisting of artistes should stop. “Yes, it is bullying, it is something that has to stop. I don’t know how to stop it as there is a lot of power that is involved and I am too small to stand up against such power,” Ranbir added.

If sources are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez will be joined by none other than Sanjay Dutt in the newest Pepsi commercial.According to sources, Sunil Manchanda, the producer, had been hunting for the perfect girl to appear alongside Kapoor and Dutt in the ad.
When he spoke to his close friend, Nikhil Advani about it, he suggested Manchanda to cast Jacqueline and showed him some scenes of her from his forthcoming film, Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai.Manchanda was impressed by Jacqueline’s performance and asked her to do the commercial.
As for Sanjay’s involvement in the ad, more details are awaited.

Glamorous actress Deepika Padukone, who has a long history of moving in and out of tumultuous relationships, was seen bonding with none other than Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth during the day one of Indian Premiere League. The actress, who newly broke up with actor Ranbir Kapoor, was linked with her co-star Farhan Akhtar during the making of ‘Karthik Calling Karrthik’ but now she seems to have bid goodbye to all her former boyfriends.With the Kingfisher scion beside her throughout the evening, the actress had eyes for no one else.
The two seemed indifferent to the world around and conversed with each other throughout the match. According to sources, the two youngsters were so busy with each other that they hardly paid attention to the ongoing match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers. The lady also chatted with Junior Mallya’s friends and chose to leave the venue with him just minutes into the second half of the match. All we can say is – good catch…err…match lady!

Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif will cheer for Indian Premier League team, the Royal Challengers, but at separate venues
After fighting over the same man — Ranbir Kapoor — now, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are now favouring the same team. The two actresses who have made it clear on several occasions that they want to stay as far away from each other, have now signed up to support Vijay Mallya’s team Royal Challengers for the upcoming IPL season.
The last time they two actresses came face-to-face, they both turned the other way and walked away. So it will be interesting to see them on the same platform.
An insider reveals, “Despite them cheering for the same team, the two actresses have ensured they don’t ever come face to face. A source reveals, “Everything has been worked out to make sure things don’t get uncomfortable for either of them. While Katrina will be travelling with the team all over, Deepika will only cheer for the matches played in Bangalore. Their schedules have also been worked out to ensure there are no clashes between the two.”
Deepika has been approached because of her passion and interest in sports. A source says, “Deepika is very attached to Bangalore and has a huge fan following at home. Also she is very enthusiastic about promoting sports. She will be present for the teams matches in Bangalore and support them.”

After Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal, Imtiaz Ali is one of the most acclaimed directors in the country today. More than his heroes, it’s his heroines that have made the most impact. All three actresses – Ayesha Takia, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone – are most remembered for the characters they portrayed in his films.
No wonder then that every young actress is keen on working with the director. Not too long ago, there were rumours that Katrina Kaif had been signed on opposite Ranbir Kapoor, but when contacted Imtiaz Ali denied the development.
The latest buzz is that Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na star Genelia D’Souza is being considered for the lead role. Imtiaz denied commenting on the same, saying he hasn’t yet finalized anyone apart from Ranbir Kapoor.
For Genelia, working with Imtiaz Ali and Ranbir Kapoor, would be a huge step forward in the industry. Here’s hoping she bags the role.
