Fans of Salman Khan were left upset Sunday when the Bollywood actor gave the BSA Hercules India Cyclothon in the capital a miss for safety reasons.A cycling fanatic Salman, who is often seen peddaling with his bodyguards on the busy roads of Mumbai, was planned to play a part in the event in the capital along with his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail.

“They (Salman and family) are not coming now. All we know is that it is because of some safety matter,” said an official, after the celebrities didn’t turn after a considerable wait by the media and fans.The actor was supposed to cycle with the participants to spread awareness about how the sport helps to stay healthy and counter heart ailments.

Believe it or not, but the many sought-after Southern actor Rajnikanth was not the first choice to play lead in filmmaker Shankar’s much-awaited flick ‘Robot’. The witty megastar Rajnikanth has revealed that he wasn’t the original choice for the much-touted sci-fi film, as Shankar initially wanted either Kamal Hassan or Shah Rukh Khan for the role opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the movie.“Initially Shankar approached Kamal Hassan and Shah Rukh Khan for this film. They were the first choice for it.

However, it eventually came to me. As they say daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam ,” said Rajnikanth.Talking about Shankar, Rajnikanth said, “Shankar is an excellent technician and one of the best directors of India who can mix the class and commercial elements very well. I did ‘Sivaji’ with him and I trust him completely, so I agreed to do the film – else I would have not done the film as it is a very tough and challenging role.”

Director Shankar has made the movie bilingual as ‘Robot’ in Hindi and ‘Endhiran’ in Tamil. Aishwarya plays the female lead opposite Rajnikanth in both the versions.
