This is something that usually happens only in a Bollywood film. But, this time round, it’s happening in real life and how. Ironically, the people involved in this are the B-town residents. We are talking about the family of legendary late Kamaal Amrohi, which is in news due to their property dispute that’s worth over a staggering Rs.600 crore!Shandar, one of Kamaal Amrohi’s three children, has now filed a case against his sister Rukhsar and brother Wasim stating that they have falsely pledged his shares in ‘Mahal Pictures Pvt Ltd’ (that owns the famous Kamaal Amrohi studio), to a company in Pune.

As he was struggling his way through the cops to file a complaint, entered Preity Zinta, his ‘adopted’ daughter (who, of late has been tweeting about how difficult it is to file an FIR these days), who offered to shoulder his cause ahead.For starters, Shandar always took Preity Zinta as his daughter ever since he saw her films. No wonder then, he had announced that he would pass on all his property to Preity. Shandar, on his part, opined that he is battling not for money but for justice and that Preity is helping him fight it, despite strong opposition from the other family members.

Even as we publish this news, we just got the update that the High Court has adjourned further hearing on Shandar’s plea till March 11. Watch this space for further updates.

Preity Zinta heir to Amrohi property?

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will recite Marathi poems at the 83rd All India Marathi Literary Meet on March 28. He will read poems from his father Harivanshrai Bachchan’s classic Madhushala.

Bachchan’s attendance at the valedictory function is being seen as significant as he and his family had been under fire from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which had alleged that the Bachchan family had no ‘Marathi pride’ and hardly made any contribution to Maharashtra.

Amitabh’s presence will also be significant in the backdrop of his company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited producing Marathi film Vihir directed by Umesh Kulkarni. He has also expressed the wish to produce more Marathi films.

Big B to read poetry at Marathi meet

After all the hard work, Kareena Kapoor believes in indulging herself. One hears that she has newly ordered an S-Class Mercedes Benz worth Rs 75 lakh for herself. The luxury car will be delivered to her doorstep next week. And while Kareena believes in gifting herself, she also loves pampering her family members. News has it that she will also be gifting a Mercedes to her elder sister, Karisma Kapur, who is due to deliver her second child any day now.

The car will be Kareena’s gift to her didi for the soon-to-be-born baby. Kareena admitted that she has been looking at the different new swanky models of luxury cars in the market but she wasn’t too keen to divulge any details on her new purchase. All Kareena said was, “I’ve wanted a new car for a while.” It was also being suggested that Kareena would get herself the BMW-7 series. In fact, some reports even said that Saif Ali Khan was presenting her a new car, which of course is not the case.

At least not presently. There are also reports that Saif was toying with the idea of buying a Mercedes Benz sports convertible worth Rs 2 crore for himself. However, his plans are said to be on hold for the moment.

Composer Pritam Chakraborty got panicky when he misplaced his laptop containing his released, unreleased and half-finished tunes and his financial details at Kolkata airport.”I couldn’t sleep, eat, almost not breathe. I made life hell for my family and for myself. What if someone got hold of the laptop and downloaded all the music? I’d be ruined,” Pritam, who lost the laptop Tuesday.

The composer along with Alisha Chinai and members of his band wrapped up the concert late Monday night at the Netaji Indoor stadium and next morning headed for the airport where after the security check he forgot to pick up his laptop. “I got busy chatting up with Madhavan and composer Shantanu Moitra who were also travelling with me. It was only when I reached Mumbai that I realised my laptop was missing.

So much of my music, plus all my financial details were in the laptop. I panicked,” he said.  Chaos reigned as Pritam tried to remember where the laptop had been absent. “A friend in Kolkata got the Kolkata airport searched thoroughly. My precious laptop was finally located and sent back to me with a crew member of flight to Mumbai. I slept only after the missing possession came into my hand.”  But now Pritam has an extra worry. What if somebody intercepted the laptop and downloaded his music?

Bollywood star Govinda needs a clear relook into his life and career. Judging by the way the actor has handled his life in the recent past and how he has been severing all his ties from his family, from his friends circle and from his political compatriots as well, it does seem that Govinda may have to do a serious rethink.

He has been working hard, doing multiple shifts at one point of time and the pressure and the enormity of deliverance even at the political level seems to have taken a toll on the actor.We hope he realises his mistake soon and gives us some good films as well. We do like him a lot as an actor.
