Upcoming controversial film ‘Love sex aur Dhokha’ producer Ekta Kapoor has been invited to address a gathering of academicians and students of the popular culture at the distinguished Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania.
Ekta says about the speech which she will give on March 27th,”I’ll talk about globalization of the Indian entertainment industry. There will be an extended question – answer session at the end too.”
Ekta will be in the US for ten days and will be combining other business meets along with the Wharton lecture. She was supposed to leave earlier but had to postpone it because of the release of ‘Love Sex aur Dhokha’. The film is getting released on March 12th.
“I didn’t want to miss the release of the film. It’s the most exciting happening in my career since I started the saas-bahu trend so many years ago”, gushes the soap queen.
It seems, Ekta is nervous about the feedback of the audience towards the film. “I am ready for claps and slaps. But no one can be indifferent to the film, that’s for sure. Just watching what Dibakar (Banerjee, the director) and I have done in the film gives me an adrenaline rush”, concludes Ekta.

Arjun Rampal is back in Ra.One. Because of Arjun Rampal’s back problem persisting, Vivek Oberoi could end up replacing him in the film, but regular treatment and medication has put Arjun back in action. A source reveals, “Arjun was always the original choice to play the villain. Director Anubhav Sinha was very intense to have only Arjun because he absolutely suited the role and his persona is exactly what the director was looking for.
His back problem was the only hurdle.” The source continues, “It’s true that Vivek Oberoi had auditioned for the role and was being considered as a back-up candidate. But things seem to be going well with Arjun and we’ll see him sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan again played SRK’s adversary. Arjun will have to perform a couple of stunts, but being a SFX movie, the director will make things easier for Arjun through the use of technology.”
While Arjun’s treatment is ongoing, he is already looking forward to start shooting. “Arjun is recovering speedily and is all charged up to play the villain’s role,” adds the source. A source close to Arjun confirmed the news.

Washington DC is going to become the first city in the US to distribute female condoms free in a bid to control the District`s spiralling epidemic of HIV and AIDS.
According to city officials, the distribution of free women contraceptives could begin within the next three weeks in the areas where a recent study has shown that large numbers of African American heterosexuals engage in risky sexual behaviour that could easily lead to infection.
Under this project, about 500,000 condoms will be made available in beauty salons, convenience stores and high schools in parts of the city with high HIV rates, a news daily reported.
“The move is an official acknowledgement of the futility of relying solely on the use of male condoms, which have been distributed citywide for nearly a decade, to stem the District`s epidemic of HIV and AIDS,” the newspaper said.
It also quoted officials as saying that they are turning to female condoms “to give women more power to protect themselves from HIV and sexually transmitted diseases when their partners refuse to use protection”.
Shannon Hader, Director of the city`s HIV/AIDS Administration, said: “Anywhere male condoms are available, female condoms will be available.”
“We`re not saying that if you`re a school in this area, you can`t get female condoms. We`re trying to make every effort count to build on what already exists… to expand options rather than limit them.”
According to the report, HIV/AIDS infection is the leading cause of death for black women 25-34 nationwide. A 2008 report showed the Washington District`s HIV/AIDS rate at 3 percent, or about 15,100 adults, a major epidemic.
Male condoms have long been handed out but infection rates remain high among Washington`s black residents. Female condoms have been on sale since 1993, but take-up has been slow as it was judged too expensive for US customers.
Now, a new version, which is being used in countries including South Africa, Brazil and Indonesia, will be distributed in Washington DC and offered for sale in pharmacies alongside male condoms, the report added.

After Aamir Khan and Javed Akhtar’s verbal row making headlines the past week, Sonu Nigam and Vidhu Vinod Chopra are the latest ones to join the list.The duo got into a heated discussion over some copyright issues. Things went from bad to worse between them compelling other members of the committee to interfere and resolve. The argument was triggered with Sonu proposing that the producers should keep 50% of the movie’s profit while the music director and the singer should keep 25% each.
Vidhu clearly disagreed, and to his defense retorted that the losses should then be equally born by the music director. The situation got out of control when Vidhu told Sonu to f*** off, in retaliation to which the infuriated and shocked Sonu demanded that the director mind his language.The incident was confirmed by Sonu Nigam who said whatever happened has happened. As for Vidhu, he confessed his ill tempered tongue in the face of the heated excitement. He claimed further, having nothing against Sonu.
In fact, right after the meeting, Vidhu went up to the singer to sort the issues, a fact that has been affirmed by Sonu, and the argument was resolved.What remains however, is the instigating matter of conceding greater chunk of the profits to the music director and singer for the film.
