Tanuja Samarth worldwide known as Tanuja was born on 23 September 1943.
Mother of Bollywood actresses Kajol and Tanisha, Tanuja is most remembered for her roles she played in Bollywood flicks like Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi that was released in 1966, Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi which was released in 1971, Anubhav(1971); simultaneously she also appeared in many Bengali films like, Teen Bhuvaner Parey (1969), Prothom Kadam Phool…

The actress started her film career with her older sister Nutan in the movie Hamari Beti (1950) as Baby Tanuja.. One of her early films, Baharein Phir Bhi Aayengi, was appreciated for her acting that was released in 1966. The movie was directed by Shaheed Latif.

Tanuja has also won the Best Supporting Actress Filmfare Award for Paisa Ya Pyar. After the success of Haathi Mere Saathi(1971), Tanuja acted in Mere jeevan Saathi, Do Chor and Ek Baar Muskara Do (1972). The talented actress has recently appeared in such films as Saathiya (2002), Rules (2003), and Khakee (2004) as a supporting actress.

Fans of Salman Khan were left upset Sunday when the Bollywood actor gave the BSA Hercules India Cyclothon in the capital a miss for safety reasons.A cycling fanatic Salman, who is often seen peddaling with his bodyguards on the busy roads of Mumbai, was planned to play a part in the event in the capital along with his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail.

“They (Salman and family) are not coming now. All we know is that it is because of some safety matter,” said an official, after the celebrities didn’t turn after a considerable wait by the media and fans.The actor was supposed to cycle with the participants to spread awareness about how the sport helps to stay healthy and counter heart ailments.
